WORK OPPORTUNITY TAX CREDIT

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) was created in the mid-’90s by the Small Business Job Protection Act of 1996 and the Welfare-to-Work Tax Credit of 1996 to incentivize employers to hire and retain from certain target groups. Employers have claimed about $1 Billion each year under the WOTC Program. They can employ an unlimited number of qualifying individuals and follow a few simple steps to claim the tax credit. You could qualify for the WOTC, especially If your business falls in one of these categories:

  • Retail

  • Manufacturing

  • Grocery
